Wherever your people work

Supporting wellbeing and sustained daily performance through a sensory aware workforce

What we do

Milward Moore helps organisations develop sensory-smart workforces. As occupational therapists, we translate sensory science into simple training, profiling and audit solutions, that create insight, inclusion, focus, and psychological safety for sustained daily performance.

At Milward Moore we know that when people are distracted, overstimulated or constantly compensating for sensory imbalances, output drops and psychological safety narrows

The evidence base is clear: environmental stressors shape mood, cognition and retention. We can’t always control our work environment, but as individuals in the workplace we can develop targeted self-management strategies to improve comfort, focus and productivity.

Case Study

Research increasingly recognises that we all have a sensory profile, and in Anna’s case this helped make sense of why, when we met her, she was still performing well at work but at a significant personal cost. As a professional with ADHD, she was working within a team that was genuinely supportive and wanted to meet her needs, yet work still felt more effortful and draining than it should. What looked like competence and perseverance was, in part, neurodivergent masking, leading to an unsustainable work pattern.
Using specialist sensory profiling, we identified not one single issue, but the cumulative impact of visual busyness, background noise, rapid task-switching, and prolonged social and cognitive pressure without enough opportunity for regulation or recovery. Intervention did not rely on generic sensory tips. Instead, the working day was restructured to create a better fit between the realities of her role and her sensory capacity, reducing cumulative burden and supporting earlier regulation. Over time, Anna’s concentration became more sustainable, her work output more consistent, and she was better able to recover after demanding periods.

Everyone has a sensory profile, neurodivergent or not. How is yours impacting your work and wellbeing?

Our services support sensory wellbeing and psychological safety

Modern workplaces are varied and so are our workforce—one size doesn’t fit all.  Our approach is designed to move from insight to action, without losing momentum.

Overview

Our approach is designed to move from insight to action, without losing momentum. Training builds a shared framework. Profiling adds precision for individuals and teams. Audits convert insight into environmental and behavioural adjustments that can be implemented, reviewed, and sustained. 74% of employees say that improving their wellbeing is more important than progressing their career

Personal clarity and self-management strategies

Individuals learn how they process noise, light, movement and touch. They leave with practical strategies to self-regulate, recover, and plan productive workdays that match their sensory profile.

Reduced friction, better flow

Identify hidden sensory stressors that derail attention. Create sensory awareness that supports wellbeing, concentration, decision quality and sustained energy, especially in open-plan settings where overload is common.

Improve retention and engagement

Protect your long-term inclusion goals and support all employees (neurodivergent and neurotypical), acknowledging that everyone has sensory preferences. When individuals develop personalised strategies to manage sensory needs, as well as learning how to make practical adjustments to reduce fatigue and avoidance, they contribute more, stay engaged and present, and grow with your organisation.

Evidence-led reasonable adjustments

Move from ad-hoc requests to a clear, clinically-informed method. Our reports and recommendations help HR managers act consistently, document decisions clearly, and demonstrate duty of care legally.

Confidence to speak up

When environments feel manageable, people communicate more openly. Sensory-aware teams are quicker to name needs, ask for support, and share ideas freely, without fear or embarrassment, even under pressure.

Better teams, fewer misunderstandings

Shared language improves empathy. Colleagues recognise different working styles, reduce misattribution, and build small habits that keep collaboration respectful and productive, strengthening psychological safety and reducing conflict overall.
